    About the verification

Higg FEM informs brands, retailers, and manufacturers about the environmental sustainability performance of their individual facilities so they can make improvements that reduce negative sustainability impacts.

    The FDM assesses

    • Covers up to 100% of FEM Level 1 quantitative questions ; it is automatically imported into FEM.
    • Monthly tracking of environmental data from Cascale and Worldly.
    • Real-time primary data: energy, water, waste, wastewater.

    Reporting cadence

    • Monthly submissions (or quarterly batches) — continuous, without a single annual deadline.
    • Quarterly validation through desktop review during the year.
    • Closing audit combined with the annual FEM verification.

    On-site & Off-site Validation

Remote desktop review; three quarterly audits recommended.

Closing audit together with the annual FEM visit. A validated FDM ≠ a verified FEM. A separate verification is required.

    Why do brands use it?

    • Frequent primary data instead of a single annual FEM snapshot.

    • Makes it possible to attribute impacts to specific production volumes.

    • Faster, data-driven sourcing decisions; supports EU regulation and SBT.

    Why do factories use it?

    • Eliminates end-of-year rushes and spreadsheet tracking.

    • Monitors month-to-month and year-to-year trends; shares progress in real time.

    • Automatically feeds data into the FEM.
